This is a fun, self guided exploration of what a coffee brand could look and feel like if its emphasis was on the strength of its coffee and its ties to the after life.
My approach was to model after the strategy of vintage coffee ads when often times, the point of the ad was to show preference.
In this case I chose to express the preference that the dead have for Coffin Coffee.
I wanted to illustrate that Coffin Coffee is the only coffee strong enough to wake the dead.
We all wake up. Many of us don't really wake up unless we have coffee. On multiple occasions, I've conversed with those who regarded themselves as dead in the morning. This project is a playful response to coffee culture and the coffee drinker phenomenon of waking up.
Yes, Science has already explained how caffeine affects the human body... But it hasn't explained why the dead wake from their sleep when Coffin Coffee is near.
Is it the aroma? The irresistibly smooth texture? The staining effects that coffee has on our bones?
We will never know.
